4,500+ Indigenous youth (6,000+ youth, coaches, chaperones and officials) from across Alberta are invited to engage in a week of competitive sports, traditional games, special events, education, and cultural connection! NOTE-FOR COMMUNITY REGISTRATIONS- Communities need to sign up for each team separately. Individuals likewise need to register for multiple sports separately however when signing up for multiple sports individuals won't have to do the waiver form for each separate registration (as when you sign the waiver the first time you are signing for each and every time you sign up for separate sports thereafter) but will be faster to fill out after the initial registration waiver form filled out.
NEW THIS YEAR! Skateboarding & Mini & Junior Golf Divisions get to play 18 holes! Also there will be one day of Team Scramble Golf and one day of Golf Singles tournament! Games are now 4 days of team sports (August 10-13th) then 2 days of individual/newer sports (August 14-15th) then 4 days of remaining team sports (August 16-19th). IE for Team Sports of Basketball, Ball Hockey, Softball, Volleyball, Ball Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer everyone will play 3 days then only those in the final rounds will play on the 4th day.
NOTE- We ARE NOT DOING AIG DREAM TEAMS this year for the following Team Sports: Ball Hockey, Baseball (Boys), Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Fastpitch Softball (Girls), Golf Team Scramble, Handgames (Northern Style & Southern Style), and Volleyball (We are doing them for the sports of Lacrosse, Rugby, and Soccer). If you are registering an individual youth that doesn't have a team then here are the following 2 options: 1) Find a team for them to be on 2) Register them as an individual and we will put them in a waitlist and hold a draft for the teams that need extra players to pick from and if your youth gets on a team we will notify you and then you will pay your individual registration fee. It's not guaranteed we will get your youth on a team but we will do our best to get them on a team as we want all youth to be able to participate.
We are only doing AIG Dream Teams for the sports of Lacrosse, Rugby, and Soccer.
If you are registered under a team already that is paying the team fee you don’t have to pay individually as well. But all athletes on a team or not have to fill out this individual registration waiver/consent form. Each individual on the team must fill out this individual registration waiver form or they won't be allowed to participate.NOTE: There is NO REQUIREMENT FOR ATHLETES, COACHES, OR ANYONE ELSE TO BE VACCINATED (for the Covid 19 Vaccine) to participate in the 2023 Alberta Indigenous Games.

Athletes are allowed to compete in multiple sports. Monday & Tuesday August 15th-16th are break days from all of the major team sports (ie Fastpitch Softball, Basketball, Volleyball, Lacrosse, Ball Hockey etc...) for one day sports as we encourage all athletes to try out the sports of Athletics, Beach Volleyball, Canoe/Kayak, Handgames, Rugby 7's, and Skateboarding. Canoe/Kayak, Handgames, Rugby 7's and Skateboarding are all free to register.
If there are not enough registrations for any one division then that specific sport maybe subject to cancellation or modified to play up in a higher division.
All participants under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a chaperone

FREE SPORTS- For the sports of Skateboarding, Handgames, Canoe/Kayak, Cross Country, and Rugby 7's there is NO REGISTRATION FEE (FREE) to register an individual and/or a TEAM to participate and compete for medals in each sport, however Individuals and TEAM's registering for free won't get a SWAG BAG (Consisting of AIG T-Shirt, AIG Knapsack, AIG Bottle of Water, AIG Souvenir Program, AIG Sticker and other gifts from sponsors). However the individuals registered for the sports of Skateboarding, Rugby 7's and Handgames can register and pay $20 and get an AIG SWAG Bag for themselves if they want.
Registration for INDIVIDUALS for the sports of Archery, Athletics (Track & Field), Ball Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, Fastpitch Softball (Girls), Golf Singles, Golf Team Scramble, Lacrosse, Volleyball is $125 per athlete per sport. Reminder-We are only doing AIG Dream Teams for the sports of Lacrosse, Soccer and Rugby this year. Those individuals that don't have a team for the sports of Basketball, Softball, Beach Volleyball, Handgames, Team Scramble Golf, Volleyball, Ball Hockey, Baseball we will get them on a waitlist and try to get them on a team that needs extra players and only once it's confirmed they are put on a team then do you pay.
